How random video chat works
Press start, see a stranger, press next. Behind those three steps there are a few simple rules worth knowing.
From “Start” to “Hi”
- 1You join a queue of everyone who is looking for a partner right now.
- 2A random person is picked — no ratings, no popularity scores.
- 3If you use VIP filters, only people of the chosen gender or country qualify.
- 4You’re connected, usually directly device to device.
Small rules that matter
Fewer repeats
Matching tries not to pair you with your last five partners.
Night time
Fewer people are online at night, so filtered searches can take longer.
Next is normal
Skipping is part of the game — nobody takes it personally.
